Welcome to Iris & Opal. I&O is a space where I am recording my own experiences that I have had while traveling, dining, and event planning. It will also be where I journal during mine and my husband’s journey to start a family. I love sharing new experiences and inspiring people to try new things.

The meaning of...

The iris flower is an important one to me. On my wedding day, my mother gifted me with a blue iris that she kept from her own bouquet on her wedding day. This same type of flower was given to her on her wedding day and was her mother’s wedding bouquet flower. Both the iris and the opal are symbols of hope, faith, and courage. The opal also happens to be my mother’s birthstone. These past few years I have found an inner strength that I did not know I had. When I see both of these items they help me to center and remind myself that I am strong.
